LIVE Results of the 2024 Lok Sabha Election: All 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP’s major bastion in the previous two general elections, are being counted, and the NDA and INDIA alliance, which includes the Congress and Samajwadi Party, are engaged in an intense back-and-forth fight.
The latest trends available on the Election Commission website show that the INDIA bloc is leading in 39 seats (SP in 32 and Congress in seven), while the NDA leads in 40 seats (the BJP in 38 and the RLD in two). With one seat, the Azad Samaj Party (Kanshiram) held the lead.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Congressman Rahul Gandhi, and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav were leading from Varanasi, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, and Kannauj Lok Sabha seats, respectively, among other important Uttar Pradesh seats.
Senior BJP leader Maneka Gandhi, along with union ministers Smriti Irani and Anupriya Patel (Apna Dal (S)), were lagging in the Lok Sabha constituencies of Amethi, Mirzapur, and Sultanpur, respectively.
The NDA secured 62 out of 80 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, with the then-ally BSP and Samajwadi Party securing 10 and 5 seats, respectively.
